I didn’t miss this time.

Well, finally! After the last fiasco of not being able to see Cute Is What We Aim For, I wasn’t sure what to do with myself. Luckily, I didn’t have to repeat the same horror. In the midst of a wild, unruly crowd, crushed between like 6 people and barely able to breathe, I watched, danced, screamed, and listened to Shaant sing his tunes. Of course, as with all concerts, I could barely understand it over all the screaming. But it’s something. (: Unlike the last concert I went to where only the middle of the floor was a mosh pit, the whole thing was one this time. Well, maybe not completely moshy, but definitely pushy. I don’t know how I stood my ground, but I did it. (: High five!

First to play was A Rocket To The Moon. About a year ago, there was this wave of MySpace sites putting the song “Baby, We’re Invincible” on their profiles. That’s who its by. I only know about two of his songs, “Fear of Flying,” and that one. But I was still able to appreciate how incredible he is live. Nick Santino is his name. That’s who the 3rd picture up top is with. He has so much hair, holy moley. He’s such a cutie. Haha. The first picture is with the guy who was playing guitar with him. I don’t know his name. It’s not listed on the A Rocket To The Moon MySpace. But he was good, and fun to watch, and he is incredibly gorgeous as well. My sister go a picture with him and then I was like “Would you do me the pleasure as well?” with a little wink, and he’s like “Yeah, since you asked like that. Haha.”

Second was Automatic Loveletter. When I first found out that I was going to the concert and they were playing, I figured I’d better listen to some of their stuff. Within the first 3 seconds of “The Answer,” I fell in love with them. The last two pictures up there are with the band members. Daniel, the guy on the right, stroked my hair… Haha it was kinda funny. I don’t quite blame him though. It was incredibly soft.

Third was CIWWAF, and as explained above, it was fabulous. The second picture is of Shaant. I couldn’t get anything better. Secondhand Serenade played last, but my sister and I only got to listen to about a song and a half before we had to go. From what I heard, Mr. John Vesely is incredible live. I’m gonna have to go to another one of his shows so I can see him all the way through. I was pretty bummed I didn’t get to meet him or anyone from CIWWAF, but I guess that’s the way the cookie crumbles. Maybe next time. (:

Shaant eats dog food?

Haha so I’m going to tell you guys about the weirdest dream I’ve ever had…

On Tuesdays is the Cute Is What We Aim For concert, right. So in my dream, House of Blues canceled it. So I arranged for the concert to be moved to my friend David’s house. How that worked out, I have no idea. But it’s a dream, so give me a break. So we’re setting up chairs and stuff and stacking them row by row so it looks sorta like stadium seating, which makes no sense because why would you be sitting while you’re at a mosh-worthy concert? So I go off for a bit to do whatever and Shaant, the lead singer of CIWWAF walks in, puts his arm around me and says, “Hey, James.” And I got the distinct feeling the James he meant was James from Reverselyts.com. So, naturally I said to Shaant, “Um… My name isn’t James…” and he’s like, “Oh… Who are you, then?” I said I’m Kayla and then he started making out with me…? Definitely something that happens only in a dream. K so he pulls away and suddenly I find dog food in my mouth…? What the heck, Shaant?! Is this a new delicacy I haven’t heard about? So I’m standing there, he’s still got his arm around me but we moved to the outside walkway and he kisses me again. Then he’s like, “So Layla’s supposed to be coming. Do you know who Layla is?” And I say, of course, “No, who’s Layla?” Turns out, Layla is his girlfriend. Well Layla starts walking up the walkway and he kisses me again, right in front of her, lets me go, and goes, “HEY LAYLA!” Musicians… they’re so weird.

So after that lovely fiasco, I went back into the little concert hall setup and a band is playing. No band in particular, just one that my mind made up. So I was standing there in front of the tables we were using as a stage and they’re playing and the dude started letting me play his instrument while he was singing. I have no idea what kind of instrument this was, but it was sort of like a drum. And I was actually good at playing it! So then we started playing it together and it sounded amazing. Hooray for musical talent! I wish I had it in real life. I guess after that I just started doing random things with no meaning because I don’t remember much else except for sitting in a room eating Reeses Cups.

Every time I think about that dog food kiss I get the feeling of dog food in my mouth. I can feel it and it’s kinda grossing me out. Slobbery, soggy dog food. Gag.

Here We Go Again.

Well, the time has come again for me to admit that I have let this site go. Over and over, it happens. I need to stop. I’m definitely more involved with things in my life right now and I have very little time to update the site. However, I did find the time to make 27 awesome (in my opinion) layouts. I think they’re really cool. They’re drop-shadowed, and some are even animated. I plan on adding more when I get the time. As far as layouts go, I think it just took a little inspiration in the stylesheet area for me to want to make more. I made a new set up so that I can make them a lot faster, so you might be able to expect more. No promises, though.

Graphic design is actually paying off. My youth pastor made a website for my youth group, and in my honest opinion, the layout is horrible. So we had a bonfire one night and I went up to him, and I said, “Seth, did you make the layout on the website?” “Yes.” “Hmm. Can I make a new one?” I told him how much it sucked in so few words. I almost feel bad. But he said yeah, and now along with this girl April from the youth group, we’re going to completely revamp the site and even run it, with Seth checking up on stuff behind the scenes, of course. It should be an interesting duty. It’ll look pretty good on my application to Virginia Marti College, too. (:

Hmm. So today I went to see a movie. It was The Haunting of Molly Hartley. Don’t go see it. It really is dumb. It’s not scary at all and it was so confusing. The end didn’t make sense at all. The only reason my friends and I went to see it in the first place is because there are no good movies in the box office this week. Seriously, they’re all rated R, which we can’t get into anyway, and little kid movies. So the choices were between that, W., and HSM3, which I would have thrown myself in front of a bus before I saw. So seeing as we went to the matinee, and the movie reviews sucked, my friends and I had the whole theater to ourselves. We were loud and obnoxious the whole time and James and Dylan even opted to play Marco Polo during it. Good times, good times. The concession girl scared me because when I bought my pop, I paid with my credit card and she came into the theater and told my that it didn’t go through. I was like “WHAT?!” Then she’s like, “I think it was my fault. I swiped it the wrong way because I was mesmerized by the pretty dots on it.” Haha and so it was that and all was well in the world again.

Hmm. That’s all I’m gonna say. I have nothing interesting for you guys. The last post was super long, so I’ll make this one relatively short. Have a good November, guys, because chances are, I won’t write a new post until December. Speaking of December: 1 month and 23 days until my birthday! Drop by and say hi on December 27th. Laters! (;
